Greeting from the Chair
The 2026 Asian Forum for Accelerators and Detectors (AFAD2026) is scheduled to be held in Shanghai, China, from 13 to 17 October 2026. Under the auspices of the Asian Committee for Future Accelerators (ACFA), AFAD is an annual forum dedicated to fostering academic and research collaboration among universities and institutions across Asia and Oceania.
AFAD2026, hosted by the Shanghai Advanced Research Institute, Chinese Academy of Sciences, will focus on accelerators, detectors, and related advanced technologies in both research and industrial contexts. Topics include, but are not limited to: Accelerator and its related technologies for photon science, Detector technology development, Accelerator technologies for industrial & medical applications, Innovative accelerator techniques, Accelerator and its related technologies for hadron (neutron) science, Network & computing, and Cryogenics, cryomodule and superconducting technology for accelerators.
It is my great pleasure to extend to you a cordial invitation to participate in AFAD 2026. This forum will provide an important platform for in-depth exchanges on future directions, cutting-edge concepts, and practical applications of accelerator-related technologies, and further strengthen international cooperation in the field.
