Description
Three accelerator photon sources are now operating and constructing at Shanghai in China, which include Shanghai synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF), Shanghai Soft X-ray Free Electron Laser (SXFEL) and Shanghai HIgh repetitioN rate XFEL and Extreme light facility (SHINE). The SSRF is a 3.5GeV third generation light source, starting the user service in May 2009. Currently there are 38 beamlines and 55 experimental stations in operation, delivering productive results. The SXFEL is a 1.5GeV C-band linac based FEL facility, driving a SASE and a seeded FEL lines for 6 experimental stations with the output photon energy up to 0.4 keV. This facility started to serve user in January 2023. The SHINE is a high repetition rate X-ray FEL facility under construction, comprising of an 8 GeV CW superconducting linear accelerator, a 100 PW Super-Intense Ultra-Short laser, 2 undulator lines and 6 experimental stations in Phase-I, with maximum FEL pulse repetition rate up to 1 MHz and radiation photon energy covering the range of 0.2–15 keV. The project implementation started in April 2018, and since then encouraging progress has been achieved. For the time being, manufactures of equipment and installations of the linear accelerator, the 100 PW laser, the Phase-I undulator lines, beamlines and experimental stations as well as the first part linac commissioning are all in course. This talk presents the current status and future perspectives of these above photon sources.
