Description
The Second-generation heavy Ion Medical Machine (SIMM) is currently under construction by IMP-CAS in China. The SIMM complex consists of a high-intensity linac cascade injector featuring a novel plate structure, an ultra-compact synchrotron with a fast ramping rate of 6 T/s, and an innovative beam delivery system based on a single-beamline rotating scheme. Installation of the main accelerator devices began in March 2026, and the machine has since entered the tuning and EMC testing stage. An overview of the general design and current status of the SIMM complex is given in this presentation.
