Description

The Hefei Advanced Light Facility (HALF) is a soft X-ray diffraction-limited storage ring light source currently under construction in Hefei, China, with completion scheduled for October 2028. The HALF accelerator complex primarily comprises a diffraction-limited storage ring, with a full-energy linac as its injector. The natural emittance of the HALF storage ring is 85 pm·rad at 2.2 GeV. In September 2026, the full-energy linac achieved first beam. Installation of the storage ring components is currently underway, and beam commissioning is expected to begin in March 2027. This report will present the accelerator progress of HALF.
