Description

The CiADS (China Initiative Accelerator Driven System) superconducting linac, constructed by the Institute of Modern Physics, CAS, is the highest-power CW superconducting linac under construction worldwide. Its scientific and societal significance extends beyond nuclear waste transmutation and raising uranium utilization from ~1% to ~95%, encompassing isotope production, muon science, and other frontier directions. HWR cryomodules have been installed, elliptical cryomodules are under final installation, and the RF system integration has reached 80%. Beam commissioning is scheduled for Novermber 2026, with beam power expected to reach 25 kW by the end of this year. This report presents the design, integration, and commissioning progress of the CiADS linac.,
