Description
The Hefei Advanced Light Facility (HALF) is a fourth-generation diffraction-limited synchrotron radiation source currently under construction as one of China's major national science infrastructure projects. Construction commenced in June 2023, with completion planned for October 2028. The facility comprises an accelerator complex (injector and storage ring), beamlines, and supporting utilities. To support intelligent operations of such a large-scale facility, a unified distributed control environment based on EPICS has been established for HALF, serving as the data foundation across the entire facility. This infrastructure collects three categories of data: beam status data from the accelerator, device operation data from accelerators, beamlines, and utility systems, and log data. Building on this foundation, a range of data-driven applications is being developed, including fault diagnosis and early warning, predictive maintenance, and performance optimization, as well as intelligent beam tuning and digital twin development. The civil construction has been delivered, and the injector is currently under commissioning. The control system and database system related to the injector have been deployed and are in operation, with preliminary database applications initiated. This presentation will report the architecture of the HALF data infrastructure, its current deployment status, and initial application results, and will discuss how this data foundation is being built to enable intelligent operations.
