Description

CSNS (China Spallation Neutron Source) is an accelerator-based facility that generates high-intensity short-pulse neutrons for multidisciplinary research platforms. Its accelerator system includes an 80 MeV H⁻linac and a 1.6 GeV rapid-cycling synchrotron, with a designed target power of 100 kW. The facility has operated stably for 8 years and yielded a number of research achievements. CSNS-II aims to boost beam power to 500 kW and add 11 new spectrometers and experimental stations. To date, the upgraded front end, room-temperature RF systems, injection region and RCS ring have been refurbished, while the SRF cavities and their cryomodules are in mass production. This report presents the relevant research progress
