Description
The Accelerator Research and Development (ARD) division at SLRI is developing accelerator technologies for industrial and medical applications. This contribution presents the history and technical details of our in-house 6-MeV electron linac, including its recent fruit irradiation tests. We will introduce a new project to expand the linac into a demonstration center for agricultural product irradiation. We will also present our plan to produce isotopes for PET scans, using a proton accelerator based on an ECRIS, RFQ, and DTL. The ECRIS is currently in the procurement process, and this work is the first step toward this system.
